Yesterday was a fly fishing excursion with Outside in Aspen. I had a blast fly fishing the Roaring Fork River with Aspen Outfitting. We did do plenty of climbing up and down the river banks as we went for great fishing spots on the river.
I had a blast casting a line trying to hook some big trout.
After that I spent some time walking around Aspen with friends.

Gone Fishin'....Float Fly Fishing That Is
Yesterday I did a first me - go on a float fly fishing trip. I went out with Sunrise Anglers on the Colorado River in Glenwood Springs. Since you're in a flat bottom row boat or skiff, you do have to balance. I was actually surprised how much balance and core work I was getting standing at the bow and fly fishing. Of course, not as much as my guide who was rowing!

Giddy Up & Go At Smith Fork Ranch
Saturday I had a jammed packed day of activity at Smith Fork Ranch. I started with what I can exploration workout. It was a combination of hiking, running and just plain ole exploring. I was off on this adventure that including hiking straight up a hill from the ponds to capture to sun rising over the mountains.
After breakfast we headed out on a trail ride. It was the perfect morning to ride through the fall foliage and enjoy a gorgeous warm fall day. We rode for about an hour and a half.
After lunch it was a fly fishing clinic the fishing in the ponds for about an hour and a half.
We topped off the afternoon with archery on the range and then on the course. It's a great arm workout.
Just a great day on the ranch!

Outdoor Fun in Breckenridge
Well here I am not even a week in to this blog and already behind on entries for two days. That's because I'm on working vacation in Breckenridge. So the workouts Thursday and Friday have been all about kid fun! Thursday was somewhat of a rest day with the drive to Breckenridge then an afternoon running around the Breckenridge Fun Park with an 8 year old and almost 10 year old. From running through the maze to riding the Alpine SuperSlide it was a fun few hours. Then Friday it was a day of fly fishing with Mountain Angler, going 1100 feet underground then riding the 55 foot ore chute slide at Country Boy Mine, then bike riding on mountain bikes through town and along the Breckenridge Bike Path. We even raced the rain back to the Patagonia Store on Main Street.
